After receiving a ventriloquist doll as a gift, Jamies wife is killed by a mysterious figure, leading him to uncover the sinister past of his hometown and ultimately becoming a victim of Mary Shaws revenge. Dead Silence is a 1997 American English-language Action Crime motion picture starring Ryan Kwanten, Amber Valletta, Donnie Wahlberg, Bob Gunton, James Garner, Kim Coates and Linda Thorson. Twisted Pictures was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Gregg Hoffman, Oren Koules and Mark Burg. The movie is directed by James Wan. Universal Pictures acquired the distribution rights for the film. Dead Silence was released on 11th January 1997 and takes a screen time of 89-92 minutes. Dead Silence was made on a budget of $20 million and it was a hit at box office gross of $22 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by Leigh Whannell. Cinematography was done by John R.
