Two down on their luck men tries to kidnap a wealthy businesswoman's dog to demand a hefty ransom from her. Things goes haywire when the dog goes missing and plan begins to deteriorate, leading to further chaos and confusion. The movie is inspired from Vettam by Priyadarshan Udayakrishna & Siby K. Thomas. De Dana Dan was Produced by Ganesh Jain, Girish Jain, Bharat S Shah, Ratan Jain and Champak Jain. De Dana Dan is written by Suresh Krissna, Jay Master, Ashiesh Pandit, Priyadarshan Nair, Sayeed Qadri and Neeraj Shridhar and it is directed by Priyadarshan Nair. Venus Records & Tapes acquired the distribution rights for the movie. De Dana Dan was released on 27th November 2009 and takes a screen time of 167 minutes. De Dana Dan was made on a budget of ₹60 crore and at the box office it grossed only ₹48 crore. The screenplay for the movie was written by Priyadarshan. Cinematography was done by N. K. Ekambaram and editing by Arun Kumar. The music was composed by Sulaiman Merchant along with Salim Merchant, Pritam Chakraborty, Salim-sulaiman, Rhythm Dhol Bass and Ad Boyz.
