In a tumultuous love marriage, Badrunissa desperately tries to get her abusive alcoholic husband Hamza to quit drinking, resorting to various methods and even pressuring him to have a child, but her friend Zulfi intervenes and files a complaint against Hamza for physical abuse, leading to his arrest, release, and eventual discovery that he must quit drinking due to a cirrhosed liver, but suspicions and more violence arise, resulting in the tragic loss of their unborn child, prompting Badru to seek revenge and ultimately find freedom, hoping for a better future. Darlings was Produced by Alia Bhatt, Gauri Khan and Gaurav Verma. Darlings is written by Parveez Sheikh and Jasmeet K. Reen and it is directed by Jasmeet K. Reen. Netflix acquired the distribution rights for the film. Darlings was released on 5th August 2022 and takes a screen time of 134 minutes. Cinematography was done by Anil Mehta and editing by Nitin Baid. The music was composed by Prashant Pillai along with Vishal Bhardwaj and Mellow D.
