In 1993, Harry and Marianne narrowly escape a volcanic eruption in Colombia, but tragedy strikes as Marianne loses her life, leading Harry to investigate unusual seismic activity near Dantes Peak four years later, where he teams up with the towns mayor and her children to warn the townspeople and eventually escape the impending eruption. Dantes Peak is a 1997 American English-language Action Adventure motion picture featuring Pierce Brosnan, Linda Hamilton, Charles Hallahan, Jamie Renée Smith, Jeremy Foley, Elizabeth Hoffman and Roger Donaldson. Pacific Western Productions was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Gale Anne Hurd and Joseph Singer. Dantes Peak is written by Leslie Bohem and directed by Roger Donaldson. Universal Pictures acquired the distribution rights for the movie. Dantes Peak was released on 1st May 1997 and takes a screen time of 109 minutes. The Film was successful at box office. Dantes Peak was made on a budget of $116 million and it was a hit at box office gross of $178 million. Cinematography was done by Andrzej Bartkowiak and editing by Conrad Buff IV, Tina Hirsch and Howard E. Smith. The music was composed by James Newton Howard along with John Frizzell.
