A vulcanologist arrives at a countryside town recently named the second most desirable place to live in America and discovers that the long dormant volcano, Dante's Peak, may wake up at any moment. Pacific Western Productions was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Gale Anne Hurd and Joseph Singer. Dantes Peak is written by Leslie Bohem and directed by Roger Donaldson. Universal Pictures acquired the distribution rights for the movie.
