Two military officers stationed at a missile base face conflict and launch a retaliatory strike against Soviet missiles, leading to devastating consequences and a post-apocalyptic world where mutated creatures roam; they join forces with other survivors to search for a radio broadcasts source and eventually reach an intact suburb in Albany, New York. Dampati is a 1976 American bengali-language Drama film featuring Jan-michael Vincent, George Peppard, Dominique Sanda, Paul Winfield, Jackie Earle Haley, Partho Mukerjee and Sova Sen. The movie is inspired from Damnation Alley by Roger Zelazny. Dampati was Produced by Jerome M. Zeitman and Paul Maslansky. Dampati is written by Anil Ghosh and directed by Anil Ghosh and Jack Smight. 20th Century Fox acquired the distribution rights for the film. Dampati was released on 10th December 1976 and takes a screen time of 91 minutes. Dampati was made on a budget of $8 million and at the box office it grossed only $4 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by Alan Sharp and Lukas Heller. Cinematography was done by Harry Stradling and Jr. and editing by Frank J. Urioste. The music was composed by Jerry Goldsmith.
