Dakshayagnam

The film tells the story of Daksha, a king who is granted powerful abilities by the gods and has two sons and adopts 27 girls, but his favoritism towards one daughter, Rohini, leads to conflicts with his other daughters and curses Chandra to die of T.B., resulting in a war between Daksha and Siva, ultimately leading to Sati, Dakshas daughter, falling in love with Siva against her fathers wishes, attending a function where she is humiliated, leading to her self-immolation and Siva destroying the sacrifice and beheading Daksha before eventually restoring his life with a goats head, giving rise to the place now called Draksharama. Dakshayagnam is a 1962 Indian Telugu-language Drama Musical movie starring S. V. Ranga Rao, N. T. Rama Rao, Taraka Rama Rao Nandamuri, Devika Devadas, S.v. Ranga Rao, Kannamba and Vasundhara. Varalakshmi Pictures was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Kadaru Nagabhushanam and Kannamba.
