Two men create a horror movie by scaring real individuals and eventually turn to filming real murders after things go too far. Cut Bank is a 2013 American English-language Horror Mystery motion picture starring Liam Hemsworth, Billy Bob Thornton, John Malkovich, Teresa Palmer, Michael Stuhlbarg, Sam Scarber and Gregory Caruso. Kilburn Media was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Mickey Barold, Dan Cohen, Edward Zwick, Laura Rister, Mark C. Manuel and Ted O neal. Cut Bank is written by Roberto Patino and directed by Matt Shakman. A24 acquired the distribution rights for the film. Rountree and Banks have come up with a nonsensical and pointless genre exercise, a film built on a couple of wool over the eyes plot twists one of which is spelled out repeatedly in case anyone misses it the first time. ( Read More )

Malkovich doesnt quite convince as a lovelorn and borderline inept officer of the law, but hes so good in his scenes opposite an understated Thornton and characteristically brash Platt that it doesnt really matter. ( Read More )
