A new music teacher tries to educate unruly inner-city students but must take matters into his own hands when a gang threatens his wifes safety. Class of 1984 is a 1982 English-language Action Crime film starring Perry King, Merrie Lynn Ross, Timothy Van Patten, Lisa Langlois, Stefan Arngrim, Michael Fox and Frankie Venom. The movie is inspired from The Blackboard Jungle 1954 novel by Evan Hunter Blackboard Jungle 1955 film by Richard Brooks. Guerrilla High Productions was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Arthur Kent. The movie is directed by Mark Lester. Citadel Films acquired the distribution rights for the movie. Class of 1984 was released on 1st July 1982 and takes a screen time of 94 minutes. Class of 1984 was made on a budget of $4 million and at the box office it grossed only $2 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by Mark Lester, John Saxton and Tom Holland. Cinematography was done by Albert Dunk and editing by Howard Kunin. The music was composed by Lalo Schifrin.
