TriStar Pictures in association with Tencent Pictures, Big Beach and Mr. Youree Productions. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Suneet Arora, Youree Henley, Peter Saraf, Marc Turtletaub and Leah Holzer. Chitkabrey is written by Suneet Arora, Vishal Vijay Kumar and Sanjay Masoom and it is directed by Suneet Arora and Marielle Heller. Sony Pictures Releasing acquired the distribution rights for the movie. Chitkabrey was released on 26th August 2011 and takes a screen time of 109 minutes. Chitkabrey was made on a budget of ₹4 crore and at the box office it grossed only ₹13 lakh. The screenplay for the movie was written by Micah Fitzerman-Blue and Noah Harpster. Cinematography was done by Jody Lee Lipes and editing by Anne McCabe. The music was composed by Nate Heller.
