Chinatown is a 1974 American English-language Drama Mystery film featuring Jack Nicholson, Faye Dunaway, John Hillerman, Perry Lopez, Burt Young, John Huston and Sally Yarnell. Penthouse in association with Long Road Productions and Robert Evans Company. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Robert Evans. Chinatown is written by Robert Towne and Roman Polanski and it is directed by Roman Polanski. Paramount Pictures acquired the distribution rights for the motion picture. Chinatown was released on 20th June 1974 and takes a screen time of 131 minutes. and it received positive reviews from critics when it was released and became successful at box office. Chinatown was made on a budget of $6 million and it was a super hit at box office gross of $29 million. Cinematography was done by John A. Alonzo and editing by Sam O Steen. The music was composed by Academy Award Oscar winner Jerry Goldsmith. At the 1975 Oscar Awards It won an award for Best Writing, Original Screenplay.
