Children of Hiroshima

A teacher on an island near post-war Hiroshima goes on a summer holiday, encounters a former servant and learns about their tragic circumstances, visits an orphanage and offers to take the servant and his grandson, visits her infertile colleague and the destroyed site of their former kindergarten, visits her former students who are facing difficulties, discusses war casualties with someone, and convinces the servant to let his grandson go with her before he tragically dies. Genbaku no ko is a 1952 Japanese Japanese-language Drama War motion picture featuring Nobuko Otowa, Osamu Takizawa, Masao Shimizu, Jûkichi Uno, Akira Yamauchi, Takashi Itô and Tsuneko Yamanaka. The motion picture is written and directed by Kaneto Shindo. Genbaku no ko was released on 6th August 1952 and takes a screen time of 97 Minutes. Cinematography was done by Takeo It and editing by Zenju Imaizumi. The music was composed by Akira Ifukube.
