A wealthy man named Rahul loses his grandparents and goes on a vacation to Goa, but ends up taking his grandfathers ashes on a trip to Rameswaram instead, where he meets a woman named Meenamma and falls in love with her while overcoming challenges to marry her. Chennai Express is a 2013 Indian Hindi-language Action Adventure motion picture starring Deepika Padukone, Shah Rukh Khan, Sathyaraj, Nikitin Dheer, Priyamani, Jimmy Moses and Md. Jasim Uddin. Red Chillies Entertainment was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Gauri Khan, Karim Morani, Ronnie Screwvala and Siddharth Roy Kapur. Chennai Express is written by K. Subhash, Yunus Sajawal, Robin Bhatt, Farhad Samji and Sajid and it is directed by Rohit Shetty. UTV Motion Pictures acquired the distribution rights for the movie. Chennai Express was released on 9th August 2013 and takes a screen time of 141 minutes. The Film was successful at box office. Chennai Express was made on a budget of ₹115 crore and it was a hit at box office gross of ₹207 crore. The screenplay for the movie was written by Yunus Sajawal and Farhad-Sajid. Cinematography was done by Dudley and editing by Steven H. Bernard.
