Chemmeen

Chemmeen is a 1965 Indian Malayalam-language Drama Romance movie starring Sathyan, Madhu, Kottarakkara Sreedharan Nair, Manuel Sathyaneshan, Sheela Antony, Kottarakkara Sridharan Nair and Raghava Pisharody. The movie is inspired from Chemmeen by Thakazhi Sivasankara Pillai. Kanmani Films was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Babu Ismail Sait. Chemmeen is written by Thakazhy Shivashankar Pillai and S.l. Puram Sadanandan and it is directed by Ramu Kariat. Chemmeen was released on 19th August 1965. The Film was successful at box office. Chemmeen was made on a budget of ₹8 lakh and it was a super hit at box office gross of ₹40 lakh. The screenplay for the movie was written by S. L. Puram Sadanandan. Cinematography was done by Marcus Bartley and U. Rajagopal and editing by Hrishikesh Mukherjee and K. D. George. The music was composed by Salil Chowdhury. At the 1966 National Film Awards It won an award for Best Film.
