A chef named Roshan Kalra focuses on his career over his family, but after visiting his son, he feels guilty and decides to open a food truck to spend more time with him while still pursuing his passion for cooking. Chef is a 2017 Indian Hindi-language Comedy Drama movie featuring Saif Ali Khan, Padmapriya, Dhanish Karthik, Ram Gopal Bajaj, Riju Bajaj, Varun .v. Bandekar and Dinesh Nair. The movie is inspired from Chef by Jon Favreau. T-Series in association with Abundantia Entertainment and Bandra West Pictures. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Jon Favreau, Bhushan Kumar, Raja Krishna Menon, Vikram Malhotra, Krishan Kumar and Janani Ravichandran. Chef is written by Jon Favreau, Ritesh Shah, Suresh Nair and Raja Krishna Menon and it is directed by Jon Favreau and Raja Krishna Menon. AA Films acquired the distribution rights for the film. Chef was released on 6th October 2017 and takes a screen time of 133 minutes. Chef was made on a budget of ₹31 crore and at the box office it grossed only ₹6 crore. Cinematography was done by Priya Seth and editing by Shivkumar V. Panicker. The music was composed by Jonathan Borland along with Steve Slanec, Raghu Dixit and Amaal Mallik.
