A high school graduate, Charlie, makes a promise to his younger brother Sam to practice baseball every day, but their lives change tragically after a car accident, leading Charlie to discover his ability to communicate with spirits and fulfilling Sams dying wish, until he meets Tess, falls in love, breaks up with her to protect his brothers spirit, believes Tess is dead, but is convinced otherwise and embarks on a journey to find her, eventually rescuing her from a wrecked boat and continuing their lives together.
