In the near future, crime is patrolled by a mechanized police force. When one police droid, Chappie, is stolen and given new programming, he becomes the first robot with the ability to think and feel for himself. Chappie is a 2015 American English-language Action Crime movie featuring Sharlto Copley, Dev Patel, Ninja, Yolandi Visser, Jose Pablo Cantillo, Sigourney Weaver and Nico Engelbrecht. Columbia Pictures in association with MRC, LStar Capital and Kinberg Genre. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Simon Kinberg and Neill Blomkamp. Chappie is written by Neill Blomkamp and Terri Tatchell and it is directed by Neill Blomkamp. Sony Pictures Releasing acquired the distribution rights for the movie. Chappie was released on 5th March 2015 in English and Afrikaans languages and takes a screen time of 120 minutes. The Film was successful at box office. Chappie was made on a budget of $49 million and it was a super hit at box office gross of $102 million. Cinematography was done by Trent Opaloch and editing by Julian Clarke and Mark Goldblatt. The music was composed by Ryan Amon along with Chris Clarke and Hans Zimmer.
