A money-minded young man meets a girl abandoned by her boyfriend in London, and their journey to Kolkata to resolve the problems caused by her elopement explores themes of betrayal, love, and redemption. Old Theatre Limited was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Ashok Dhanuka and Himanshu Dhanuka. Chalbaaz is written by Abdullah Zahir Babu and Harish Shankar and it is directed by Joydip Mukherjee. Eskay Movies acquired the distribution rights for the film.
