A group of cat-like creatures called the Jellicles compete in a talent show to be chosen for a mythical journey that promises a new life, exploring themes of belonging and self-discovery, while viewers are taken on an enchanting adventure filled with music, dance, and emotion. Cats is a 2019 English-language Comedy Drama motion picture starring James Corden, Judi Dench, Jason Derulo, Idris Elba, Jennifer Hudson, Ian Mckellen and Hannah-faith Marram. The movie is based on Cats by Andrew Lloyd Webber Old Possum s Book of Practical Cats by T. S. Eliot. Working Title Films in association with Amblin Entertainment, Perfect World Pictures, Monumental Pictures and The Really Useful Group. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Debra Hayward, Tim Bevan, Eric Fellner and Tom Hooper. The movie is directed by Tom Hooper. Universal Pictures acquired the distribution rights for the motion picture. Cats was released on 26th December 2019 and takes a screen time of 110 minutes. Cats was made on a budget of $95 million and at the box office it grossed only $15 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by Lee Hall and Tom Hooper. Cinematography was done by Christopher Ross and editing by Melanie Oliver. The music was composed by Andrew Lloyd Webber.
