The movie is based on Captain Underpants by Dav Pilkey. DreamWorks Animation was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Mireille Soria and Mark Swift. Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie is written by Nicholas Stoller and directed by Rob Letterman and David Soren. 20th Century Fox acquired the distribution rights for the motion picture. Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie was released on 1st June 2017 and takes a screen time of 89 minutes. The Film was successful at box office. Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie was made on a budget of $38 million and it was a super hit at box office gross of $125 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by Nicholas Stoller.
