Capernaum

The story revolves around Zain, a 12-year-old boy in Beirut slums, who takes legal action against his parents, navigates through challenging circumstances, forms unexpected friendships, faces dangers, and ultimately finds a way to fight for justice and reunite mistreated children with their parents. Capernaum is a 2018 Arabic-language Drama movie starring Zain Al Rafeea, Yordanos Shiferaw, Boluwatife Bankole, Kawthar Al Haddad, Fadi Kamel Youssef, Nour El Husseini and Ali Zoghbi. Mooz Films was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Khaled Mouzanar and Michel Merkt. The movie is written and directed by Nadine Labaki. Sony Pictures Classics acquired the distribution rights for the motion picture. Capernaum was released on 20th September 2018 and takes a screen time of 126 minutes. The Film was successful at box office. Capernaum was made on a budget of ₹40 lakh and it was a super hit at box office gross of $68 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by Nadine Labaki, Jihad Hojaily and Michelle Keserwany. Cinematography was done by Christopher Aoun and editing by Konstantin Bock and Laure Gardette. The music was composed by Khaled Mouzanar. At the 2018 Cannes Film Festival It won an award for Jury Prize.
