The movie is based on Animals Are My Hobby by Gertrude Davies Lintz. Buddy was Produced by Fred Fuchs, Steve Nicolaides and Francis Ford Coppola. Buddy is written by Gertrude Davies Lintz, William Joyce and Caroline Thompson and it is directed by Caroline Thompson. Sony Pictures Releasing acquired the distribution rights for the movie.
