A Marine officer is deployed to Afghanistan, leaving his family behind, and after being captured by the Taliban, he is eventually rescued but returns home with severe PTSD, leading to tension and a violent breakdown. Brothers is a 2009 American English-language Drama Thriller motion picture featuring Tobey Maguire, Jake Gyllenhaal, Natalie Portman, Sam Shepard, Clifton Collins Jr., Mare Winningham and Melinda Sullivan. The movie is based on Br dre by Susanne Bier and Anders Thomas Jensen. Michael De Luca Productions in association with Relativity Media and Sighvatsson Films. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Michael De Luca, Sigurj N Sighvatsson and Ryan Kavanaugh. Brothers is written by David Benioff, Susanne Bier and Anders Thomas Jensen and it is directed by Jim Sheridan. Lionsgate acquired the distribution rights for the motion picture. Brothers was released on 21st January 2010 and takes a screen time of 105 minutes. Brothers was made on a budget of $26 million and at the box office it grossed only $1 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by David Benioff. Cinematography was done by Frederick Elmes and editing by Jay Cassidy. The music was composed by Thomas Newman.
