Aditya, Ramana Chintapally and Chintapally Ramana and it is directed by V.n. Aditya and V. N. Aditya. Boss was released on 27th September 2006 and takes a screen time of 160 minutes. Boss was made on a budget of ₹70 crore and at the box office it grossed only ₹49 crore. The screenplay for the movie was written by V. N. Aditya. Cinematography was done by Siva and editing by Marthand K. Venkatesh. The music was composed by Kalyani Malik along with Harry Anand and Anoop Rubens.

The movie makes the fatal mistake of believing that the character of Surya/Boss, being as he is little more than a string of film clichs as old as Bollywood itself, is compelling, when in fact hes barely a character at all, hes an excuse for Akshay Kumar to do martial arts, smile, and make bad jokes.
