A Hindu boy and a Muslim girl fall in love, but face opposition from their families due to religious differences, and their lives are shaken by the aftermath of a communal riot. Bombay is a 1995 Indian Tamil-language Drama Musical movie starring Arvind Swamy, Manisha Koirala, Arvind Swami, Tinnu Anand, Akarsh Khurana, Nasser and Chetana Das. Aalayam Productions was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Jhamu Sughand, Mani Ratnam and S. Sriram. Bombay is written by Mani Ratnam and Umesh Sharma and it is directed by Mani Ratnam. Aalayam Productions acquired the distribution rights for the motion picture. Bombay was released on 10th March 1995 and takes a screen time of 130 minutes. The motion picture made a box office gross of ₹14 crore. Cinematography was done by Rajiv Menon and editing by Suresh Urs. The music was composed by Ar Rahman along with A.r. Rahman. At the 1996 South Filmfare Awards It won 4 awards including: Best Actress (Manisha Koirala), Best Film, Best Director and Best Music Director. At the 1996 National Film Awards It also won 2 awards including: Best Feature Film on National Integration and Best Editing.
