Bloodsport

Bloodsport is about a soldier named Frank Dux who trains in ninjutsu and participates in an illegal martial arts tournament in Hong Kong, where he befriends American fighter Ray Jackson, journalist Janice Kent, and ultimately defeats the ruthless Kumite champion, Chong Li. Bloodsport is a 1988 American English-language Action Biography motion picture featuring Jean-claude Van Damme, Donald Gibb, Leah Ayres, Norman Burton, Forest Whitaker, Bolo Yeung and Mike Genova. Cannon Films was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Mark Disalle, Yoram Globus and Menachem Golan. Bloodsport is written by Sheldon Lettich, Christopher Cosby and Mel Friedman and it is directed by Newt Arnold. Warner Bros. acquired the distribution rights for the motion picture. Bloodsport was released on 29th April 1988 and takes a screen time of 92 minutes. Bloodsport was made on a budget of $45 million and at the box office it grossed only $39 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by Christopher Cosby, Mel Friedman and Sheldon Lettich. Cinematography was done by David Worth and editing by Carl Kress and Michael J. Duthie. The music was composed by Paul Hertzog along with Stan Bush.
