Blood Father is a 2016 English-language Action Crime motion picture featuring Mel Gibson, Erin Moriarty, Diego Luna, Michael Parks, William H. Macy, Miguel Sandoval and Art Westgate. The movie is based on Blood Father by Peter Craig. Why Not Productions in association with Wild Bunch. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Pascal Caucheteux, Chris Briggs, Peter Craig and Sebastien K. Lemercier. Blood Father is written by Andrea Berloff and Peter Craig and it is directed by Jean-fran Ois Richet. SND Films acquired the distribution rights for the movie. Blood Father was released on 12th August 2016 and takes a screen time of 88 minutes. Blood Father was made on a budget of $15 million and at the box office it grossed only $6 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by Peter Craig and Andrea Berloff. Cinematography was done by Robert Gantz and editing by Steven Rosenblum. The music was composed by Sven Faulconer.

Without Gibsons baggage, its easy to appreciate the movie as a minor throwback to the R rated action films of the 80s and early 90s, which similarly mixed the very lurid and the very wholesome, even if the action scenes dont live up to the genres heyday. ( Read More )
