Blackfish is a 2013 American English-language Documentary Biography film featuring Tilikum, John Hargrove, Samantha Berg, Mark Simmons, Kim Ashdown, Dean Gomersall and Gabriela Cowperthwaite. CNN Films in association with Manny O. Productions. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Manuel V. Oteyza and Gabriela Cowperthwaite. Blackfish is written by Gabriela Cowperthwaite, Eli Despres and Tim Zimmermann and it is directed by Gabriela Cowperthwaite. Magnolia Pictures acquired the distribution rights for the film. Blackfish was released on 26th July 2013 and takes a screen time of 83 minutes. and it received positive reviews from critics when it was released and became successful at box office. Blackfish was made on a budget of $1 million and it was a hit at box office gross of $2 million. Cinematography was done by Jonathan Ingalls and Christopher Towey and editing by Eli Despres. The music was composed by Jeff Beal.
