A former super-soldier test subject leads a quiet life as a librarian but becomes a superhero, The Black Mask, to stop the violent crime spree caused by his former team of special commando unit members. Black Mask is a 1996 Cantonese-language Action Adventure film featuring Jet Li, Lau Ching-wan, Karen Mok, Fran Oise Yip, Patrick Lung, Anthony Wong and Bing Lei Li. Win s Entertainment in association with Film Workshop. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Tsui Hark. The movie is directed by Daniel Lee. China Star Entertainment Group acquired the distribution rights for the motion picture. Black Mask was released on 9th November 1996 and takes a screen time of 99 minutes. Black Mask was made on a budget of $60 million and at the box office it grossed only $26 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by Tsui Hark, Koan Hui, Teddy Chan and Joe Ma. Cinematography was done by Tony Cheung and editing by Cheung Ka-fai. The music was composed by Teddy Robin.
