A series of bomb explosions in Bombay in 1993 caused many deaths and injuries, facilitated by corrupt officials and orchestrated by the underworld don Tiger Memon. Black Friday is a 2004 Indian Hindi-language Action Crime motion picture featuring Pawan Malhotra, Kay Kay Menon, Aditya Srivastava, Imtiaz Ali, Pratima Kazmi, Zakir Hussain and Rakesh Kumar. The movie is inspired from Black Friday: The True Story of the Bombay Bomb Blasts by Hussain Zaidi. Mid Day Multimedia Limited in association with Big Bang Pictures, Jhamu Sughand and Mirror Films. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Arindam Mitra. Black Friday is written by Anurag Kashyap, Hussain Zaidi and Piyush Mishra and it is directed by Anurag Kashyap. Reliance Entertainment acquired the distribution rights for the film. Black Friday was released on 9th February 2007 and takes a screen time of 162 minutes. Black Friday was made on a budget of ₹4 crore and it was a hit at box office gross of ₹4 crore. Cinematography was done by Natarajan Subramaniam and editing by Aarti Bajaj. The music was composed by Indian Ocean.
