A young boy befriends a ghost in a haunted house, who reveals his tragic past and with the familys help, finds closure and peace. Bhoothnath is a 2008 Indian Hindi-language Comedy Drama motion picture starring Amitabh Bachchan, Juhi Chawla, Shah Rukh Khan, Aman Siddiqui, Rajpal Yadav, Priyanshu Chatterjee and Samir Chandra. The movie is based on The Canterville Ghost by Oscar Wilde. B.R. Films was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Ravi Chopra. Bhoothnath is written by Sudhanshu Dube and Vivek Sharma and it is directed by Vivek Sharma. Indian Films acquired the distribution rights for the film. Bhoothnath was released on 9th May 2008 and takes a screen time of 136 minutes. Bhoothnath was made on a budget of ₹20 crore and it was a hit at box office gross of ₹23 crore. Cinematography was done by Vishnu Rao and editing by K. Vikas. The music was composed by Filmfare Award winner Salim Merchant along with Shekhar Ravjiani, Sulaiman Merchant, Vishal Dadlani, Vishal Shekhar and Salim Sulaiman.
