Beddegama

In a small village, a destitute family fights against poverty, illness, superstition, colonial rule, and the jungle, facing deception, false accusations, and an unjust trial, in their desperate struggle for survival. Beddegama is a 1980 Sinhala-language film featuring Malini Fonseka, Joe Abeywickrama and Vijaya Kumaratunga. The movie is inspired from The Village in the Jungle. Beddegama was Produced by P. Wilfred Perera. Beddegama is written by A.j. Gunawarda and Lester James Peries and it is directed by Lester James Peries. The movie has a running time of 130 minutes. Cinematography was done by Willie Blake and Donald Karunaratna and editing by Gladwin Fernando. The music was composed by Nimal Mendis.
