Bandini

Bandini tells the story of Kalyani, a woman serving life imprisonment for murder, who falls in love with a freedom fighter and ultimately finds her own freedom. Bandini is a 1963 Indian Hindi-language Drama Musical movie featuring Ashok Kumar, Dharmendra, Ashok Kumar Ganguly, Nutan Samarth, Raja Paranjape, Tarun Bose and Nazir Kashmiri. The movie is inspired from based on Tamasi by Charu Chandra Chakraborty. Mohan Studios in association with Mumbai. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Bimal Roy. Bandini is written by Jarasandha, Nabendu Ghosh and Paul Mahendra and it is directed by Bimal Roy. Yash Raj Films acquired the distribution rights for the motion picture. Bandini was released on 1st January 1963 and takes a screen time of 157 minutes. Cinematography was done by Kamal Bose and editing by Madhu Prabhavalkar. The music was composed by Sachin Dev Burman along with Shailendra and Gulzar.
