Baler

In 1898, a band of Spanish soldiers heroically defended Baler against Filipino forces for 337 long and grueling days. The battle, now referred to as the Siege of Baler, is the setting of a forbidden love between a Mestizo soldier and a Filipina lass who lived at the end of the 19th century. Baler is a 2008 Tagalog-language Drama Romance film starring Anne Curtis, Jericho Rosales, Phillip Salvador, Andrew Schimmer, Joel Torre, Carlo Aquino and Allen Dizon. VIVA Films in association with BIDA Foundation. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Vic Del Rosario Jr. and Erwin Genuino. Baler is written by Roy Iglesias and directed by Mark Meily. VIVA Films acquired the distribution rights for the movie. Baler was released on 25th December 2008 and takes a screen time of 116 minutes. Baler was made on a budget of ₹1000 crore. Cinematography was done by Lee Meily and editing by Danny A onuevo. The music was composed by Vincent De Jesus.
