A Catholic priest volunteers for a failed experiment to find a vaccine for a deadly virus but miraculously recovers after a blood transfusion, ultimately turning into a vampire and engaging in a series of murders with his lover before choosing to die together by burning in the sun. Bakjwi is a 2009 Korean-language Drama Fantasy film starring Song Kang-ho, Kim Ok-bin, Kang-ho Song, Hee-jin Choi, Dong-soo Seo, Hwa-ryong Lee and Tae-hee Kim. The movie is inspired from Th r se Raquin by mile Zola. Bakjwi was Produced by Park Chan-wook and Ahn Soo-hyun. The movie is directed by Park Chan-wook. Focus Features acquired the distribution rights for the motion picture. Bakjwi was released on 10th September 2009 and takes a screen time of 134 minutes. The film made a box office gross of $13 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by Park Chan-wook and Jeong Seo-kyeong. Cinematography was done by Chung Chung-hoon and editing by Kim Sang-bum and Kim Jae-bum. The music was composed by Jo Yeong-wook.
