Babes is a much stronger product when its simply being a more grounded drama with occasional comedic moments, rather than the other way around, as you can sense that Adlon and writers Glazer and Rabinowitz are a lot more interested in tackling those aforementioned heavy themes that surprisingly few other pregnancy comedies tend to touch upon.
