Atonement

The story is set in 1935 England and follows 13-year-old Briony Tallis, who misinterprets various encounters involving her sister Cecilia and Robbie Turner, leading to Robbies wrongful conviction for rape, Brionys regretful actions, and a later revelation that it was actually Paul Marshall who assaulted Lola, ultimately ending with an imagined happy reunion between Cecilia and Robbie. Atonement is a 2007 English-language Drama Mystery motion picture starring James Mcavoy, Keira Knightley, Saoirse Ronan, Romola Garai, Vanessa Redgrave, Ailidh Mackay and Wil Wright. The movie is inspired from Atonement by Ian McEwan. StudioCanal in association with Working Title Films. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Tim Bevan, Eric Fellner and Paul Webster. The movie is directed by Joe Wright. StudioCanal acquired the distribution rights for the film. Atonement was released on 20th June 2008 and takes a screen time of 123 minutes. The Film was successful at box office. Atonement was made on a budget of $30 million and it was a super hit at box office gross of $131 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by Christopher Hampton. Cinematography was done by Seamus McGarvey and editing by Paul Tothill. The music was composed by Dario Marianelli. At the 2008 Oscar Awards It won an award for Best Achievement in Music Written for Motion Pictures, Original Score.
