A bank robber named Lau Xing pretends to be a passport for Phileas Fogg, who hires him as a valet, and they team up to break the speed barrier of 50 mph while Fogg attempts to travel around the world in 80 days to replace Lord Kelvin as Minister of Science, encountering various adventures, obstacles, and pursuits by Inspector Fix, ultimately winning the bet with the help of friends and realizing they forgot to consider the International Date Line. The movie is based on Around the World in Eighty Days by Jules Verne.
