Astronaut Jim Lovell hosts a party to watch Neil Armstrongs first steps on the Moon, but later finds himself on a mission aboard Apollo 13 that faces numerous crises, including an explosion, requiring the crew to rely on the Lunar Module as a lifeboat, but ultimately they manage to return safely to Earth. Apollo 13 is a 1995 American English-language Adventure Drama movie featuring Tom Hanks, Kevin Bacon, Bill Paxton, Gary Sinise, Ed Harris, Kathleen Quinlan and Craig Mitchell Vincent. The movie is inspired from Lost Moon by Jim Lovell Jeffrey Kluger. Universal Pictures in association with Imagine Entertainment. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Brian Grazer and Lorne Orleans. Apollo 13 is written by Jim Lovell, Jeffrey Kluger, William Broyles Jr and Al Reinert and it is directed by Ron Howard. Universal Pictures acquired the distribution rights for the film. Apollo 13 was released on 31st October 1995 and takes a screen time of 140 minutes. and it received positive reviews from critics when it was released and became successful at box office. Apollo 13 was made on a budget of $52 million and it was a super hit at box office gross of $355 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by William Broyles Jr. and Al Reinert. Cinematography was done by Dean Cundey and editing by Daniel P. Hanley and Mike Hill. The music was composed by Academy Award Oscar winner James Horner. At the 1996 Oscar Awards It won 2 awards including: Best Sound and Best Film Editing.
