A poor and honest painter named Raj Kumar is wrongly accused of murder, but with the help of his employers and lawyer, he fights to clear his name and reunite with his love interest, Asha. Swastik Productions was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) L. B. Lachman. Anari is written by Inder Raj Anand and directed by Hrishikesh Mukherjee. Star India acquired the distribution rights for the motion picture. Anari was released on 16th January 1959. Cinematography was done by Jaywant Pathare and editing by Hrishikesh Mukherjee.
