The story follows Danny Vinyard, a high school student who chooses to write an essay on Mein Kampf, which antagonizes his Jewish history teacher, and explores the background of Dannys older brother Derek, a former neo-Nazi leader who becomes disillusioned and tries to persuade Danny to leave the white supremacist gang, but ultimately fails, and Danny is killed by a black student, leading Derek to blame himself for influencing Dannys views and actions. American History X is a 1998 American English-language Crime Drama motion picture featuring Edward Norton, Edward Furlong, Fairuza Balk, Stacy Keach, Elliott Gould, Avery Brooks and Debra Wilson. American History X was Produced by John Morrissey. American History X is written by David Mckenna and directed by Tony Kaye. New Line Cinema acquired the distribution rights for the film. American History X was released on 18th March 1999 and takes a screen time of 119 minutes. American History X was made on a budget of $20 million and it was a hit at box office gross of $23 million. Cinematography was done by Tony Kaye and editing by Jerry Greenberg and Alan Heim. The music was composed by Anne Dudley.
