A respected lawyer named Amarnath rapes a milkwoman named Soniya, who becomes pregnant and is cast out by the villagers, but is protected and supported by Amarnaths fiancée Anju. Amar is a 1954 Indian Hindi-language Drama Musical movie starring Madhubala, Dilip Kumar, Nimmi Nawab Banoo, Jayant Khan, Ullhas, Husn Banu and Nawab Khan. Mehboob Productions was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Mehboob Khan. Amar is written by S.k. Kalla, Agha Jani Kashmiri, Mehrish, B.s. Ramaiah and S. Ali Raza and it is directed by Mehboob Khan. Mehboob Productions acquired the distribution rights for the motion picture. Amar was released on 1st January 1954. Amar was made on a budget of ₹40 lakh. Cinematography was done by Faredoon A. Irani and editing by Shamsudin Kadri. The music was composed by Naushad.
