A young boy in San Diego discovers his passion for rock music and journalism as he joins a band on tour, saves a groupie, navigates conflicts within the band, confesses his love, and ultimately achieves success. Almost Famous is a 2000 American English-language Adventure Comedy motion picture featuring Billy Crudup, Frances Mcdormand, Kate Hudson, Jason Lee, Patrick Fugit, Anna Paquin and Larry Weisberg. Columbia Pictures in association with DreamWorks Pictures and Vinyl Films. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Cameron Crowe and Ian Bryce. Almost Famous is written by Cameron Crowe, Chuck Palahniuk and Jim Uhls and it is directed by Cameron Crowe and David Fincher. DreamWorks Pictures acquired the distribution rights for the film. Almost Famous was released on 15th March 2001 and takes a screen time of 122 minutes. and it received positive reviews from critics when it was released. Almost Famous was made on a budget of $60 million and at the box office it grossed only $47 million. Cinematography was done by John Toll and editing by Joe Hutshing and Saar Klein. The music was composed by Nancy Wilson. At the 2001 Oscar Awards It won an award for Best Writing, Screenplay Written Directly for the Screen.
