Alien is a 1979 American English-language Horror Sci-Fi motion picture featuring Tom Skerritt, Sigourney Weaver, Veronica Cartwright, Harry Dean Stanton, John Hurt, Ian Holm and Peter Shepherd. TriStar Pictures in association with Tencent Pictures, Big Beach and Mr. Youree Productions. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) David Giler, Walter Hill and Gordon Carroll. Alien is written by Dan O bannon, Ronald Shusett, Jack Paglen and Ciro Ippolito and it is directed by Ridley Scott and Ciro Ippolito. 20th Century Fox acquired the distribution rights for the movie. Alien was released on 31st October 1979 and takes a screen time of 116 minutes. and it received positive reviews from critics when it was released and became successful at box office. Alien was made on a budget of $50 million and it was a super hit at box office gross of $131 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by Dan O Bannon. Cinematography was done by Derek Vanlint and editing by Terry Rawlings and Peter Weatherley. The music was composed by Academy Award Oscar winner Jerry Goldsmith. At the 1980 Oscar Awards It won an award for Best Effects, Visual Effects.
