The film portrays the life of Muhammad Ali, including his relationships with Malcolm X and Elijah Muhammad, his marriages, and his boxing career including his fight against George Foreman. Ali is a 2001 American English-language Biography Drama film starring Will Smith, Jamie Foxx, Jon Voight, Mario Van Peebles, Ron Silver, Jeffrey Wright and Spencer Kayden. Columbia Pictures in association with Initial Entertainment Group, Peters Entertainment, Forward Pass and Overbrook Films. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Jon Peters, Michael Mann, James Lassiter, Paul Ardaji and A. Kitman Ho. Ali is written by Gregory Allen Howard, Stephen J. Rivele, Christopher Wilkinson, Eric Roth and Michael Mann and it is directed by Michael Mann. Sony Pictures Releasing acquired the distribution rights for the motion picture. Ali was released on 21st March 2002 and takes a screen time of 157 minutes. Ali was made on a budget of $107 million and at the box office it grossed only $87 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by Michael Mann, Eric Roth, Stephen J. Rivele and Christopher Wilkinson. Cinematography was done by Emmanuel Lubezki and editing by William Goldenberg, Lynzee Klingman, Stephen E. Rivkin and Stuart Waks. The music was composed by Pieter Bourke along with Lisa Gerrard.
