During an invasion by the Teutonic Knights, Nevsky leads the people of Novgorod to resist them and ultimately defeats them in a battle on a frozen lake, while on a personal level, Vasili and Gavrilo compete for Olgas hand but ultimately Vasili chooses Vasilisa as his future wife. Aleksandr Nevskiy is a 1938 Russian-language Action Biography film featuring Nikolay Cherkasov, Nikolay Okhlopkov, Andrei Abrikosov, Nikolai Okhlopkov, Dmitriy Orlov, Vasili Novikov and Nikolai Vitovtov. Mosfilm was the production house involved in the project. Aleksandr Nevskiy is written by Sergei Eisenstein and Pyotr Pavlenko and it is directed by Sergei Eisenstein and Dmitri Vasilyev. Aleksandr Nevskiy was released on 1st December 1938 and takes a screen time of 111 minutes. Cinematography was done by Eduard Tisse. The music was composed by Sergei Prokofiev.
