Akale

A writer named Neil, after parting ways with his partner Kamala, reflects on his troubled family life in Kerala, where he deals with his sister Roses obsession with glass figurines, his possessive mother Margaret, and his own past mistakes, eventually immortalizing his sisters memory through his writing. Akale is a 2004 Indian Malayalam-language Drama film starring Geetu Mohandas, Tom George Kolath, Prithviraj Sukumaran, Sheela Antony, Geethu Mohandas, Tom George and Santha Devi. The movie is based on The Glass Menagerie by Tennessee Williams. Akale was Produced by Tom George Kolath. Akale is written by Shyamaprasad and Tennessee Williams and it is directed by Shyamaprasad. Akale was released on 16th March 2004. Cinematography was done by S. Kumar and editing by Vinod Sukumaran. The music was composed by M Jayachandran. At the 2005 National Film Awards It won 2 awards including: Best Supporting Actress (Sheela) and Best Feature Film in Malayalam. At the 2005 National Film Awards It also won an award for Best Feature Film in Malayalam.
