A businessman living in Kuwait during the Iraqi invasion in 1990 helps stranded Indians escape and eventually organizes their evacuation with the help of the Indian government, leading him to realize his gratitude towards his country. Airlift is a 2016 Indian Hindi-language Action Adventure motion picture featuring Akshay Kumar, Nimrat Kaur, Kumud Mishra, Prakash Belawadi, Inaamulhaq, Lena Abhilash and Satya Ranjan. Abundantia Entertainment in association with Cape of Good Films, Emmay Entertainment, Hari Om Entertainment, T-Series and Viacom 18 Motion Pictures. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Aruna Bhatia, Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Madhu Bhojwani, Monisha Advani, Nikhil Advani, Vikram Malhotra, Nikkhil Advani, Monisha Adwani and Gaurav Nanda. Airlift is written by Raja Krishna Menon, Ritesh Shah, Suresh Nair and Rahul Nangia and it is directed by Raja Krishna Menon. Prateek Entertainment acquired the distribution rights for the film. Airlift was released on 22nd January 2016 and takes a screen time of 125 minutes. The Film was successful at box office. Airlift was made on a budget of ₹68 crore and it was a hit at box office gross of ₹123 crore. Cinematography was done by Priya Seth and editing by Hemanti Sarkar. The music was composed by IIFA Award winner Amal Mallik along with Amaal Mallik, Ankit Tiwari and Arijit Dutta.
