A young woman with a passion for boxing becomes a manager and faces challenges while juggling her own fame and the success of her fighter, ultimately leading to a surprising victory. Against the Ropes is a 2004 American English-language Biography Drama movie starring Meg Ryan, Omar Epps, Tony Shalhoub, Tim Daly, Kerry Washington, Charles S. Dutton and Alisson Santiago. Cort/Madden Productions was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Robert W. Cort and David Madden. Against the Ropes is written by Jackie Kallen and Cheryl Edwards and it is directed by Charles S. Dutton. Paramount Pictures acquired the distribution rights for the movie. Against the Ropes was released on 20th February 2004 and takes a screen time of 110 minutes. Against the Ropes was made on a budget of $39 million and at the box office it grossed only $6 million. Cinematography was done by Jack Green and editing by Eric L. Beason. The music was composed by Michael Kamen.
