A group of enslaved convicts plan an escape from an unjust regime, but their plans are foiled when they are captured by pirates; however, a bond is formed between the two groups, leading to a joint effort to challenge the oppressive regime and inspire others. Aayirathil Oruvan is a 1965 Indian Tamil-language Action Drama motion picture featuring M. G. Ramachandran, Jayalalithaa, Vinay Rai, Samuthrika, Surabhi Santhosh, Kesha Khambhati and Ilavarasu. Padmini Pictures was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) B. R. Panthulu. Aayirathil Oruvan is written by R. K. Shanmugam and directed by B. R. Panthulu. Ayngaran International acquired the distribution rights for the motion picture. Aayirathil Oruvan was released on 9th July 1965 and takes a screen time of 167 minutes. Aayirathil Oruvan was made on a budget of ₹32 crore. The screenplay for the movie was written by K. J. Mahadevan. Cinematography was done by V. Ramamoorthy and editing by R. Devarajan.
